Saturday, June 23 saw a good turnout of members. The conditions were ideal with still to light winds prevailing. However with the maximum temperature reaching a paltry 10 degrees, you knew it was winter.
As promised, Contest Director Andrew McEntyre, kept the event low key by encouraging everyone to have as many flights as possible as each flight entitled the participant to a ticket in the prize raffle. There were plenty of short flights to rack up the chances in the raffle! Andrew had quite a few prizes on offer and it looked like almost everyone took home a prize (except yours truly). After a break for the sausage sizzle lunch, the flying continued into the afternoon.
By 3pm the shadows got longer and the air much cooler and it was time for most to pack up. The low key format appeared to be a success and allowed quite a variety of models to share the sky. All who participated enjoyed the fun and mateship that ensued.
