On Friday, November 14 at
the Centennial Hotel in "Bart's Room" we held our annual dinner. There
was a good turnout on members, their friends and family.
It is nice to see the partners of some of our members who, due to other
commitments are not often at the field. Despite the 12 months between
these events
it doesn't take long for everyone to mix in and enjoy each others company
and by the amount of laughter emanating from the tables a few jokes
were being told.
The annual dinner is also
when various trophies are presented and this night was no different
although it was limited to one very special trophy. In recognition
of
his status of a founding member of the Launceston Model Aero Club (he attended
the first meeting in 1945 where 4 people attended) and his
continuing membership today.
" Captain" Dave
Jacobs was awarded a "Lifetime
Achievement" trophy for his dedication to the hobby and in particular his
ongoing support of the LMAC.
The expression of Dave's face when it was
announced was priceless. Read Dave's story here
